Old Business
- Per Scott Pat Riley is researching 501C3 status at the state level regarding our organization’s status. Mr. Riley is not charging research fees, but will charge our league filing fees. Will let Scott know what the amount is before filing and Scott will report back to league.
- Scott and Steve met this morning with Bob Renney from Parks Department: L.C.S. will receive a key for and be able to utilize flush toilets at the Longfellow pool and in the storage shed. The storage shed restrooms are being updated. A port-a-potty will also be located at the parking lot and will be staked down to avoid tipping. The parks department will stock and maintain.
- The parking lot behind Longfellow will also be patched.
- No permits will be issued for the baseball diamonds at Longfellow. Lorain City Soccer will have a permit to use the park. If anyone plays baseball at these diamonds while soccer is in session, they will be asked to leave. Bob Renney to notify Lorain Youth Baseball and the Lorain Police Department. Scott will contact Bob to see if signs can be made and hung on the baseball diamond fences stating this new policy.
- Dirt from Campana Park will be dumped by the city at Longfellow Park as soon as the weather breaks. A Bobcat and grass seed will also be brought to L.F. However, the city does not have manpower to move dirt around to level our fields. MANY VOLUNTEERS WILL BE NEEDED. Without volunteers, our fields will not be level this season.
- The Parks department will line our fields the first time and mow the grass all season. L.C.S. will have to keep fields lined there after.
- Mayor Foltin, Sandy Prudoff, and Bob Renney want to put a 50 acre soccer park at the Cromwell Park on Colorado Avenue. Past discussions of a golf course at this location will not come to fruition. Community development will help with funding and securing grants. Details still have to be worked out. This process will take several years. Until then, they will help us with L.F.
- Scott and Steve to meet with Sandy Prudoff and Mayor Foltin. Will report back to the league as soon as additional information is available.
